It's my glance upward through the trees just after a hard rainfall. I always give thanks at what God has created. Amazing isn't it...that a seed in which we can hold on our pinky-tip, can grow to such enormous heights, giving us oxygen so we can breath. It can be a place we pick food to eat to live and enjoy, a place it's branches, gathering under. These robust branches spread way out to provide us shade. Trees nest all sorts of birds, squirrels, other animals and reptiles. It has housed homemade swings and hanging tires to play on. It can be a retreat when being chased or a haven for sitting under and leaning our backs up against to read a good book.
As a child we all played tag and the tree was always home base.
Ahhh that precious tree, dropping it shades of reds, yellows, browns and orange, carpeting, decorating the grounds. And when the months roll by, we are given the glorious gift of Fall. The children jump and play and kick those pretty colors and toss them in the air watching them twirl to the ground. Those fallen leaves fill our whole wide world with so vibrant of color. Unmatched in beauty, we take it all in, driving from place to place absorbing the hues. It goes dormant each fall and winter, just to bud again in spring and bloom all summer long. We are showered with many more joyous blossoms that smell our atmosphere with wonderul aromas. The Magnolia, Cherry Blossom, Dogwoods to name a few.
That blessed tree, the book describes as "The Giving Tree" shows that at it's life's end will give the ultimate, housing us all with it's wood, used as furniture, benches, treasure chests, beautifying our yards with it's bark, and warming our fireplace with it's limbs. We chop it down stripping it bare until we are finally left with only the stump to sit on. Yes, indeed I love this picture of the beauty of the trees still intact. Life, giving Life, all from a small seed. Only our maker can do that.

I love your insight on the tree. Oh and on a side note "The Giving Tree" is still one of my all time favorites. :)
